I am a goal setter. For as long as I can remember I have thought with the end result in mind. I know what I want to see and I map out a plan of action to get there. Its an inherent ability.. that can be easily recreated.
Starting with a clear picture of the end result, creating a realistic timeframe, breaking the timeframe out into segments, setting targets for each segment and setting stretch goals along the way. At each segment I have a milestone to achieve and a reward for achieving it. At each milestone I have a re-evaluation of the plan.
As Ive gotten older, Ive found that in doing this Im able to set very lofty goals, knowing I will achieve them. Sometimes along the way, I realize the end result is so much smaller than what could be.. that life is unfolding so much more beautifully than I had imagined, teaching me that we really cant get stuck in how we think things “should” be.
When we are able to unhook from trying to make things as they “should” be, we are able to see the true flow of life’s energy. We see things come to fruition that we had never thought possible. We cherish the flow.
When we allow time for re-evaluation and stop trying to make things a certain way, we are reminded that things are truly always the way they are meant to be.
One might ask, “Why set goals if things are already the way they are meant to be?” I would say, because its in setting the goals that you open up the connection with the possibilities already floating in the Ether. Every single possibility (from worst case to best case) is already there, waiting for you to tap into it.
This is why re-evaluation is so important. When you don’t allow forgiveness and re-evaluation from what you believe you are “supposed” to be, or if you believe you should be someway other than what you are right now, you are inviting the vibration of Conflict into your space. And conflict maintains the energy of Shame. You must learn to be in flow with what is, while looking toward the end result. Because what is, is perfect.
